Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "City of
Cumberland", said new section to follow immediately
after Section 51 thereof and to be under the sub-title
"Civil Service—Police and Fire", providing for a right
of appeal by employees of the Classified Service AND
EMPLOYEES IN THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPART-
MENTS of the City of Cumberland from decisions
affecting the Civil Service.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51A be and it is hereby added to the Charter
of the City of Cumberland (1950 Edition), being Article
1A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"City of Cumberland", said new section to follow imme-
diately after Section 51 thereof and to be under the sub-
title "Civil Service—Police and Fire", and to read as
follows:
51A. Any employee of the Classified Service shall have

ICE AND THE EMPLOYEES IN THE POLICE AND
FIRE DEPARTMENTS SHALL HAVE the right of
appeal to the Circuit Court of Allegany County from any
decision affecting the Civil Service rendered by the Mayor
and City Council of Cumberland or of the Civil Service
Commission.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
