of the incorporated area of the Town of College Park,
notwithstanding any other statutory tax limitation, and
to appropriate the money so borrowed to the Branch-
ville Volunteer Fire Co. and Rescue Squad, Inc., and
the North College Park Youth Community Center, Inc.,
for the purpose of constructing a combined fire house
and A COMMUNITY CENTER recreation building in the
said fourth (4), fifth (5) and sixth (6) districts of said
Town; provided, however, that the authority hereby con-
ferred shall be subject to approval by a majority of the
qualified voters of districts four (4), five (5) and six
(6) of said Town.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland.
That in order to enable the Branchville Volunteer Fire Co.
and Rescue Squad, Inc. and the North College Park Youth
Community Center, Inc. to finance the construction of a
combined fire house and A COMMUNITY CENTER rec-
reation building, including site ACQUISITION OF SITES,
acquisition if necessary, and the cost of architectural and
engineering plans, drawings and specifications, the said
Mayor and Common Council are hereby authorized and
empowered to appropriate and levy LEVY AND APPRO-
PRIATE annually for a period not to exceed fifteen (15)
years a special assessment of five dollars ($5. 00) on each
improved parcel of land located within the FOURTH
(4TH), FIFTH (5TH), AND SIXTH (6TH) DISTRICTS
OF said Town for the use of the Branchville Volunteer
Fire Co. and Rescue Squad., Inc., and the North College
Park Youth Community Center, Inc.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer
of the Town of College Park be authorized to retain an-
nually from the revenue realized from such special assess-
ment a sum of money equivalent to seven percent (1%) of
the amount collected for administration costs, and to divide
and disburse evenly the remainder of the revenue collected
to the respective Treasurers of the Branchville Volunteer
Fire Co. and Rescue Squad, Inc. and the North College
Park Youth Community Center, Inc.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Mayor
and Common Council of College Park are hereby author-
ized and empowered to appropriate and levy LEVY AND
APPROPRIATE the special assessment provided for in
Section 1 of this Act in the same manner provided in the
Charter of the Town of College Park and amendments
thereto for the collection of taxes in the Town of College
Park.
