(1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", relating to the distribu-
tion of funds to Volunteer Fire Companies in Harford
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 212 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Harford County (1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
212. The County Commissioners of Harford County
are hereby directed to pay to the support of Volunteer Fire
Companies in Harford County, and to Volunteer Fire
Companies operating in Harford County under written
working agreements, [to wit: the Volunteer Fire Com-
panies in Aberdeen, Abingdon, Bel Air, Cardiff-Delta,
Havre de Grace and Jarrettsville, ] with said County Com-
missioners of Harford County for the purpose of helping
in the maintenance of said Companies fire-fighting appa-
ratus, on or before the first day of March in each year,
such sum or sums as the County Commissioners shall deem
proper [to pay to any such Volunteer Fire Company, ] and
not less than the aggregate sum of [five] fifteen thousand
dollars [($5, 000. 00)] ($15, 000) for all such fire companies
so assisted in any one year, and the said County Commis-
sioners shall provide for and levy in [1935] 1953, and
annually thereafter, on the assessable property in said
County not less than the sum of [five] fifteen thousand
dollars [$5, 000. 00)] ($15, 000) necessary to pay the total
sum of said appropriation or appropriations [. ]; provided,
that a Volunteer Fire Company not approved by the
Harford-Cecil Volunteer Firemen's Association shall re-
ceive no more than fifty per centum (50%) of the mini-
mum amount appropriated by the County Commissioners
for any Volunteer Fire Company so approved by said
Firemen's Association.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
