jurisdiction, the remainder of the Act, and the application
of such provision to other persons or circumstances, shall
not be affected thereby.

SEC. 27. And be it further enacted, That the council-
men of the City of Carrollton, until their successors are
duly elected at biennial elections as herein provided for,
and qualify under the terms of this Act, shall be and
consist of the following:

ALBERT H. TURNER, to serve through the election of
May, 1954, as herein provided.

EDWARD LAMMERS, to serve through the election of
May, 1954, as herein provided.

HERNDON G. KILBY, to serve through the election of
May, 1956, as herein provided.

ALBERT W. TURNER, to serve through the election of
May, 1956, as herein provided.

W. CARROLL BEATTY, to serve through the election of
May, 1956, as herein provided.

The first biennial election under the provisions of this
Charter shall be held on the first Monday in May, 1954.
The Mayor and Council shall provide registration books
and place of registration, and, after due notice printed in
some county newspaper having a general circulation in
the Town, and by posters prominently displayed, shall
conduct a registration of the voters of the Town on some
day before said first biennial election, and in conformity
with the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 28. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
