CHAPTER 434
(Senate Bill 423)

AN ACT to authorize the Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission, a body corporate, to construct, reconstruct,
extend, operate and maintain a water system in Anne
Arundel County for the purposes of supplying water to
the corrective institution of the District of Columbia,
known as the District Training School, and to residents
of Anne Arundel County; to exercise certain other
powers in connection therewith; to authorize said Com-
mission to acquire by gift, purchase, or condemnation
under Article 33A of the Public General Laws of Mary-
land any land or interest therein which may be required
for such purpose; to permit said Commission to enter
upon any State, County, or public street, road, alley or
any public highway for the purpose of installing, main-
taining and operating said water system provided for
under this Act; to provide that the powers conferred
under this Act upon the Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission shall not be exercised unless and until an
agreement relating to the execution of said powers, and
supplying water to residents of Anne Arundel County,
shall have been entered into with the Anne Arundel
County Sanitary Commission, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, be
and it is hereby authorized and empowered to construct,
reconstruct, extend, operate and maintain a water system
in Anne Arundel County for the purpose of supplying
water to the corrective institution of the District of Colum-
bia, known as the District Training School, and to residents
of Anne Arundel County who may reasonably be served
therefrom.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That said Commis-
sion may enter upon any State or County street, road or
alley, or any public highway, for the purpose of installing,
maintaining and operating the said water system, and it
may construct in any such street, road or alley or public
highway, a water main, or any appurtenance thereof; pro-
