SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to authorize the Washington Suburban Sanitary
Commission to construct, reconstruct, extend, operate
and maintain a water system from its present system
west of the town of Laurel to the Howard County boun-
dary line for the purpose of supplying water to the
residents of Howard County; to authorize the said Wash-
ington Suburban Sanitary Commission to enter into any
contract or agreement with the Howard County Metro-
politan Commission to supply water to the residents of
Howard County and to provide for the operation, main-
tenance, regulation and control of the systems of the
Howard County Metropolitan Commission which receive
water from the system or systems of the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission and for other purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission be
and is hereby authorized and empowered to construct, re-
construct, extend, operate and maintain a water system
from its present system west of the town of Laurel to the
Howard County boundary line for the purpose of supplying
water to the residents of Howard County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Wash-
ington Suburban Sanitary Commission shall have full
power and authority to enter into any contract or agree-
ment with the Howard County Metropolitan Commission,
or its successors, and/or with any person, firm, corporation
or association, including any private or public service cor-
poration to furnish water from its system authorized to be
constructed under this Act or by any other means which
the Commission may deem necessary and proper.
