the provisions in the charter of the town of Perryville
which restricts the right of voting to male citizens; now
therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 328 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County",
sub-title "Perryville", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
328. The [male] citizens of the United States of the age
of twenty-one years and upwards, who shall have resided
in the town of Perryville one year next preceding the
election, and all [male] citizens of the United States of
the age of twenty-one years and upwards who own real
estate to the value of fifty dollars within the corporate
limits of said town, shall elect by ballot on the first Monday
of May in each year, at such place as the "Commissioners
of Perryville" shall designate, three Commissioners, who
shall be owners of real estate in said town, and who shall
have resided within the limits of the same one year next
preceding the election; and no Commissioner shall receive
any compensation for his services as such.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 221-228, inclusive, of Article 8
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930

sections relating generally to the selection, empanelling
and attendance of jurors in Cecil County.
