CHAPTER 412
(Senate Bill 183)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
224 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-heading "County Trea-
surer", said Section 224 having been amended by
Chapter 967 of the Acts of 1943, relating to the compen-
sation of the Treasurer of Wicomico County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 224 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico
County", sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-heading
"County Treasurer", said Section 224 having been amended
by Chapter 967 of the Acts of 1943, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

224. The Treasurer shall receive as compensation for
his services as Treasurer an annual salary of [$3, 000]
$3, 600 payable by Wicomico County. The said Treasurer
shall devote his entire time and attention to the duties of
his office and shall keep his office open for the transaction
of business during the hours when the county offices are
open.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions
of this Act shall not become effective until the expiration
