SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 407
(Senate Bill 100)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 119-126, inclusive, of Article
27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title "Destroying
Property Maliciously"; to repeal Section 335 of said
Article, sub-title "Graveyard Desecration"; to repeal
Section 628 of said Article, sub-title "Telegraphs and
Telephones—Injury to"; to repeal Section 663 of said
Article, sub-title "Trees, etc. —Destruction of"; and to
enact a new Section 119 in lieu thereof, said new section
to stand in the place and stead of the Section 119 so
repealed, and to be under the sub-title "Destroying Prop-
erty Maliciously", repealing a number of sections of the
criminal laws of this State having to do generally with
the destruction or injury of property belonging to others
and substituting a general provision in lieu of the
several sections so repealed.

WHEREAS, pursuant to a Resolution adopted during the
General Assembly of 1952, there has been appointed a
Commission to Revise Article 27 of the Code, this Article
having to do generally with criminal laws and offenses; and

WHEREAS, as a preliminary part of its work, the Com-
mission has determined that a number of sections in
Article 27, having to do generally with the destruction or
injury of property belonging to another, may be repealed
with a brief and general provision to be substituted in the
place of the several sections so repealed; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 119-126, inclusive, of Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", sub-title "Destroying Property Malicious-
ly"; Section 335 of said Article, sub-title "Graveyard Dese-
