useful in promoting the establishment of a county-wide
kindergarten school system. The Director shall be placed
under bond in a penalty determined by the County Com-
missioners who shall pay the premium therefor.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to add Section 288A to Article 23 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Corpora-
tions", said new section to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 288 thereof, and to be under the sub-title "Religious
Corporations", and under the new sub-heading "Metho-
dist Churches", providing generally for the formation of
Methodist Church corporations for the quarterly con-
ferences of the Methodist Church for the acquisition
and conveyance of abandoned and/or unincorporated
churches, and relating generally to the incorporation and
operation of Methodist Churches.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 288A be and it is hereby added to
Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edi-
tion), title "Corporations", said new section to follow im-
mediately after Section 288 thereof, and to be under the
sub-title "Religious Corporations", and under the new sub-
heading "Methodist Churches", and all to read as follows:

288A. Formation of Methodist Church Corporations;
Quarterly Conference; acquisition and conveyance of aban-
doned and/or unincorporated churches.

(a) Methodist Churches may be incorporated only in con-
formity with the provisions of the Discipline of The
Methodist Church as from time to time authorized and de-
clared by The General Conference of said Church.
