CHAPTER 387
(House Bill 722)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County", said new section to be known as
Section 399A, to follow immediately after Section 399 of
said Article and to be under the new sub-title "War
Memorial Recreation Commission", providing generally
for the establishment of a Recreation Commission for
Wicomico County to promote recreation in said County
and relating to the duties of said Commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", said new
section to be known as Section 399A, to follow immediately
after Section 399 of said Article and to be under the new
sub-title "War Memorial Recreation Commission", and to
read as follows:

399A. A Recreation Commission for Wicomico County
is hereby established under the name of "Wicomico County
War Memorial Recreation Commission" for the purpose of
promoting recreation of the children, youth and adults of
Wicomico County. The first members of said Commission
shall be: Showard T. Culver, Ralph O. Dulany, Helen C.
Wooten and Ben Maggs whose terms shall expire December
31, 1953; James W. Belts, David M. Dayton, Rupert D.
Jones and John L. Morris whose terms shall expire Decem-
ber SI, 1954, and Charles E. Hearne, Jr., Harry O. Full-
brook, Elmer F. Ruark and Samuel W. Seidel, whose terms
shall expire December 31, 1955. The terms of members
thereafter shall be for three years from the end of the
expiring term, and the members thereof shall be appointed
by the County Commissioners of Wicomico County. The
membership of the Commission may be reduced to not less
than three and enlarged to not more than fifteen by said
County Commissioners as it deems best from time to time.
The Commission shall have full power to take such steps
as it deems proper to promote recreation of the children,
youth and adults of Wicomico County, Maryland, may em-
