SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 81 (b) of the Charter of the City of
Cumberland (1950 Edition being Article 1A of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "City of Cumber-
land", sub-title "Assessments and Borrowing Power", said
section having been amended by Chapter 421 of the Acts
of 1951, be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:
81 (b) (Levy, Indebtedness.) Said Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Cumberland shall have power to levy and collect a
tax on the assessable property of said city for the general
purposes of said corporation, not exceeding in any one
year [ninety-five cents] one dollar and twenty-five cents
on each one hundred dollars worth of said assessable
property; and in addition, to levy and collect such a tax on
the assessable property of said city as may be necessary to
pay the interest on all the outstanding city bonds, and to
provide a fund for the redemption and payment thereof at
maturity, provided, however, that the total bonded or
floating indebtedness of said city (exclusive of the in-
debtedness of the Water Department) shall not exceed at
any one time ten per cent, of the assessed valuation of the
property in said city.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition) and the
Montgomery County Code (1950 Edition), being Articles
17 and 16, respectively, of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, titles "Prince George's County" and "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Washington Suburban Sani-
tary District", said new section to be known as Section
