630 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 333

(1951 Edition), title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation
and Duties", raising the salary of the Sheriff of Harford
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 38 (1) of Article 87 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Sheriffs",
sub-title "Compensation and Duties", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as fol-
lows:

38.

(1) The Sheriff of Harford County shall receive an an-
nual salary of [$3, 600] $5, 000. He shall appoint such
deputies and at such compensation as may be provided by
the County Commissioners of said County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953, and shall not apply to the present
incumbent.

Approved April 6, 1953.


CHAPTER 333
(House Bill 415)

AN ACT to repeal Section 84A of Article 8 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Cecil County", sub-title "Charlestown", and to enact
in lieu thereof a new section to be known as Section 84A,
to follow immediately after Section 84 of said Article,
relating to the qualifications and election of the Commis-
sioners of Charlestown.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 84A of Article 8 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil
County", sub-title "Charlestown", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and that a new section be and it is hereby enacted in
