THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 567

Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "Chestertown",
Section 123 having been amended by Chapter 199 of the
Acts of 1939, and all of said sections having been
amended by Chapter 103 of the Acts of 1931, and re-
enacted by Chapter 541 of the Acts of 1941, and to
re-enact said Sections to read the same as enacted by
said Chapter 541 of the Acts of 1941, so as to remove
doubt as to the effectiveness of said Chapter 541 of the
Acts of 1941 in providing that the water works of
Chestertown be controlled and operated by the Mayor
and Council of Chestertown in lieu of by a separate
Water Board.

WHEREAS, Chapter 541 of the Acts of 1941 purports to
add new Sections 123-129, inclusive to Article 15 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, although Sections
123-129 of said Article were apparently still in full force
and effect, Section 123 having been amended by Chapter
199 of the Acts of 1939; and

WHEREAS, said Sections 123-129 were previously re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, subject to refer-
endum, by Chapter 103 of the Acts of 1931; and the results
of said referendum are in doubt; and

WHEREAS, the volility of Chapter 541 of the Acts of
1941 is therefore in doubt, it is desirable to repeal Sections
123-129 as amended and re-enacted, and to re-enact said
sections to read the same as Chapter 541 of the Acts of
1941, now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 123-129, inclusive, of Article 15 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Kent County", sub-title "Chestertown", Section 123 hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 199 of the Acts of 1939, and
all of said sections having been amended by Chapter 103
of the Acts of 1931, and re-enacted by Chapter 541 of the
Acts of 1941, be and it is hereby repealed and that said
Section be and they are hereby re-enacted to read the same
as enacted by Chapter 541 of the Acts of 1941, and all
to read as follows:

123. The Mayor and Council of Chestertown shall have
charge of the waterworks in Chestertown and shall operate
the same, with authority to employ and pay such superin-
tendent, engineers, workmen, laborers and employees as
may be necessary to carry on and maintain the same and
supply said town and the inhabitants thereof with water
