SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1954.

CHAPTER 292

(Senate Bill 422)

AN ACT to repeal sub-section (c) of Section 156B of
Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Kent County", sub-title "County
Treasurer", said Section having been amended by Chap-
ter 399 of the Acts of 1951 and to add a new sub-section
(c) to stand in the place and stead of the sub-section so
repealed, relating to the disposition of monies belonging
to the County, in the hands of the County Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (c) of Section 156B of Article 15 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Kent County", sub-title "County Treasurer", said
Section having been amended by Chapter 399 of the Acts
of 1951 be and it is hereby repealed and that a new sub-
section (c) be and it is hereby added to stand in the place
and stead of the sub-section so repealed, and all to read
as follows:

156B

(c) All money belonging to the county received by the
Treasurer shall, promptly thereafter, be deposited in such
bank or banks as the County Commissioners may designate,
or in the discretion of the County Commissioners any por-
tion of said money may be invested in United States
Government bonds, but in no other security; but no money
shall be drawn from the said bank or banks except by a
check signed by the Treasurer, Deputy Treasurer, or
President of the Board of County Commissioners or in the
absence of the said President of the Board of County Com-
missioners then the member of the Board of County Com-
missioners who is acting as presiding officer.
