to the amounts which may be appropriated by the
County Commissioners to the Washington County Free
Library.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 165 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", sub-heading
"Library", as said section was amended by Chapter 26 of
the Acts of the Extraordinary Session of 1947, be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
to read as follows:

165. The County Commissioners of Washington County
are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a con-
tract with the Washington County Free Library, whereby
they shall contract to contribute annually the sum of
Twenty Thousand Dollars per annum for the care and
maintenance of the said the Washington County Free
Library. In addition to the above amount, the said Com-
missioners are hereby authorized, in their discretion to
appropriate not exceeding [ten] Twenty Thousand Dollars
annually for the care and maintenance of said Library.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 288
(Senate Bill 409)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
122 of Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County", sub-
title "Fire Companies", as said section was amended by
Chapter 64 of the Acts of 1951, revising the schedule of
payments to be made by the County Commissioners of
Frederick County to the several fire companies therein,
and adding a new company to the list of those receiving
payments.
