(1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", as said section was
amended by Chapter 207 of the Acts of 1951, relating to
the compensation of the County Commissioners of Har-
ford County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 188 of Higinbothom's Laws of Har-
ford County (1942 Edition), being Article 13 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Harford County",
sub-title "County Commissioners, " as said section was
amended by Chapter 207 of the Acts of 1951, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

188. There shall be three County Commissioners of Har-
ford County who shall be voters and taxpayers of said
County, and who shall hold office for a term of four years
and shall be eligible for re-election. They shall re-
ceive an annual salary of [Twenty-five Hundred Dollars
($2500. 00)] Thirty-two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($3, -
250. 00),
payable monthly by the Treasurer of said County
and they are required to meet for the transaction of public
business at their office at Bel Air at least two days each
week, and as much oftener as the proper discharge of their
official duties may require. [; and on each Tuesday and
Wednesday in September and the first two Tuesdays and
Wednesdays in October they shall sit for the purpose of
making abatements and granting insolvencies; they shall
also meet daily in the last week of October of each year
until the annual levy is completed; ] Said County Commis-
sioners shall not receive any additional compensation for
any services required to be performed pursuant to their
duties as County Commissioners, including their duty to
review assessments;
provided further that the said Coun-
ty Commissioners shall be paid by the Treasurer of said
County actual traveling expenses incurred in the conduct
of their duties, but not to exceed in the aggregate Seven
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($750. 00) per year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953, but nothing herein shall be con-
strued to change the salary or compensation of said County
Commissioners in office at the time this Act is passed.
