as Section 147A and to follow immediately after Section
147 of said Article, empowering the Town Commis-
sioners of Indian Head to make certain public improve-
ments and to collect the cost as a tax against abutting
property.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Charles County, " sub-title "Indian
Head, " to be known as Section 147 A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 147 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
147A. The Town Commissioners of Indian Head are
hereby empowered to cause sidewalks along the public
streets and highways of said Town to be graded, paved,
repaired or improved; curbs to be set, gutters laid, and
and sewer and water mains to be extended at the cost and
expense of the abutting property or the owner thereof; and
the cost thereof shall be a lien on the abutting property and
the Commissioners are authorized to collect the same as in
the case of other taxes levied under the Charter, or by or-
dinance passed in pursuance thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (f) of Section 47 of Article 25 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "County Com-
missioners, " sub-title "County Treasurers, " relating to
the annual salary of the County Treasurer of Howard
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sub-section (f) of Section 47 of Article 25
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
