section shall be made applicable to Montgomery and
Prince George's Counties.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sub-section (a) of Section 29 of Article 33
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Elections", sub-title "Registration", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

29.

(a) In the said City and counties, persons qualified to
register, transfer, affiliate or change their party affiliation
may register, transfer, or affiliate at the office of the Board
of Supervisors of Elections at any time such office is open,
except in Baltimore City, Montgomery County and Prince
George's County
thirty days preceding and ten days follow-
ing a primary or special election and forty-five days pre-
ceding and fifteen days following a general election, and
in the remaining counties thirty days preceding and ten
days following any election, primary, general or special;
and may change their party affiliation at said office, when
open, except six months preceding and ten days following
a primary election and in Baltimore City, Montgomery
County and Prince George's County,
forty-five days pre-
ceding and fifteen days following and in the remaining
counties thirty days preceding and ten days following a
general or special election. For the period during which
persons may so register, transfer, affiliate or change their
party affiliation, the Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore
City shall by regulation provide that the office in said City
shall be open for such registration, transfer or affiliation
on Thursday and Friday of each week, during the hours
from nine o'clock A. M. to nine o'clock P. M.; but the said
supervisors by unanimous vote may prescribe the hours
during which said office shall be open, anything herein-
above to the contrary notwithstanding; and this provision
shall not affect the right of any person so to register, trans-
fer or affiliate during normal business hours on every other
day during the period for registration.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
