tinued, all nuisances within the corporate limits of said
town, and when to do so would be to the advantage and
benefit of the town, they may pass all ordinances or by-
laws from time to time necessary, and to insure the ob-
servation of such ordinances in addition to the action of
debt or such other civil remedies as may exist in such cases
by law for the recovery of the penalties thereunto affixed,
they may affix thereto such reasonable fines, not exceeding
Fifty Dollars ($50) in any case, as to them may appear
right, and in default of the payment of any fine imposed,
they may provide for the imprisonment of the offenders
for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days, or until the
fine is paid; or either fine or imprisonment in the County
Jail, or both, provided that the fine in no case shall exceed
Fifty ($50) Dollars, nor imprisonment be for a longer
period than thirty (30) days; provided, that no ordinance
shall be adopted except by yea and nay vote, and the names
of the members of the Council voting for or against the
same shall be entered in the minutes; the Mayor and
Council shall have power in their discretion to appropriate
money to aid in promoting the efficiency of the public
schools located within the limits of the town.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
6 of Article 32A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Department of Law", fixing the
salary of the Attorney General of Maryland at $12, 000. 00
per year.
