(House Bill 479)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendment, Section
298 (b) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Testamentary Law", sub-title
"Register of Wills", raising the salary of the Register of
Wills of Harford County AND OF THE REGISTER
OF WILLS OF CECIL COUNTY.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 298 (b) of Article 93 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title Testamentary
Law", sub-title "Register of Wills", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

298.

(b) The Register of Wills of the several counties of the
State shall be entitled to receive annually the respective
salaries hereinafter set forth and no more as follows:

(1) The Register of Wills for Calvert County shall be
entitled to receive $2, 500 annually.

(2) The Registers of Wills for Caroline, Charles, Wor-
cester and St. Mary's Counties shall each be entitled to re-
ceive the annual salary of $3, 000.

(3) The Register of Wills of Garrett County shall be
entitled to receive the annual salary of $3, 200.

(4) The Register of Wills of [Harford, ] Kent, Queen
Anne's, Cecil, Somerset and Talbot Counties shall each be
entitled to receive the annual salary of $3, 600.

(5) The Register of Wills of Anne Arundel, CECIL,
Dorchester, Harford, Howard, Prince George's, and
Wicomico Counties shall each be entitled to receive the
annual salary of $4, 000.

(6) The Register of Wills of Carroll County shall be en-
titled to receive the annual salary of $4, 200.
