in which they respectively reside, but all residing in the
same county shall be sued in one action. ] In any action ex
contractu in which all of the defendants are not residents
of the same County, the plaintiff at his election may sue
all said defendants in the County in which any one of the
defendants resides or regularly does business. As used in
this section, the term "County" includes Baltimore City.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(House Bill 212)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 50 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Workmen's Compensation, "
sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits, " provid-
ing for lump sum payment of compensation without dis-
count.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 50 of Article 101 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Workmen's Com-
pensation, " sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits, "
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
50. In every case providing for compensation to an em-
ployee or his dependent, excepting temporary disability,
the Commission may, if in its opinion the facts and cir-
cumstances of the case warrant it, convert the compensa-
tion to be paid in a partial or total lump sum, without dis-
count.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
