CHAPTER 166

(Senate Bill 207)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-
section (c) of Section 278 of Article 66½ of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Motor
Vehicles", relating to weights of vehicles and loads.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (c) of Section 278 of Article 66½ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Motor
Vehicles", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

(c) The gross weight of any motor vehicle or combi-
nation of vehicles may not exceed 65, 000 pounds. [The
provisions of sub-section (b) of this section shall be in
force and effect until June 1, 1953, at which time it shall
cease to be law. ]

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

Approved March 31, 1953.


CHAPTER 167
(Senate Bill 220)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
133 of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "County Commissioners", sub-title
"Public Roads", authorizing the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County to take over and maintain
alleys more than 20 feet wide. OR ROADS 20 FEET
OR MORE IN WIDTH.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 133 of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "County Commissioners",
sub-title "Public Roads", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
