mink and muskrat skins in his possession until March 10
for purposes of curing such skins.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
8 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "General
Duties of Clerks", relating to attendance in office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 8 of Article 17 of the 1951 Annotated Code
of Maryland, title "Clerks of Courts", sub-title "General
Duties of Clerks", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
8. Every clerk shall attend at his office for the trans-
action of the business thereof every day except Sundays
and legal holidays either in person or by deputy, unless
prevented by sickness, accident or necessity [. ], except
that the office of Clerk of the Circuit Court for DORCHES-
TER, MONTGOMERY AND Wicomico County COUN-
TIES may at the discretion of the Clerk be closed on
Saturdays.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or
parts of laws inconsistent with this Act be and they are
hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
