being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Montgomery County", sub-title "Same—
Procedure; duties of registrars", so as to provide for
registration by the use of cards or loose-leaf pages, in
addition to the registration books in the City of Rock-
ville.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 113-17 of the Montgomery County
Code (1950 Edition), being Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery Coun-
ty", sub-title "Same—Procedure; duties of registrars", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

113-17. Same—Procedure; duties of registrars.

a. It shall be the duty of the Mayor and Council of
Rockville to furnish the Registrars with a suitable book
or books or loose-leaf page system in which to register
voters according to the provisions of this sub-title and to
appoint and supply a place or places where said Registrars
shall sit in the discharge of their duties.

b. The Registrars shall give at least two weeks' notice
in [two] one or more papers published in the [Town] City
of Rockville, of the time, as hereinafter specified, and place
or places of the sitting of the Registrars for the purpose of
registration.

c. There shall be a registration of the qualified voters
of Rockville on the last Monday in March and on the first
Monday in April of each year, at which times the said Regis-
trars shall sit for the performance of their duties. If
necessary for the performance of their duties or for the
convenience of the citizens of the said [Town] City of
Rockville, the Mayor may appoint another day or other
days for such sitting of Registrars.

d. Separate sets of registration books or loose-leaf pages
shall be compiled and maintained for the voters in each
of the election districts into which said City of Rockville
may, from time to time, be divided under the provisions of
applicable law, so that said registration books or loose-leaf
pages may be maintained to reflect the names of registered
voters in each of such election districts, as same are or may
be created or changed. Such registration book or books or
loose-leaf pages within each such election district may, as
deemed expedient by the Mayor and Council, be subdivided
into alphabetical groups, and so maintained. Whenever it
