request, the Department may issue a duplicate registration
card, the fee for which shall be One Dollar ($1. 00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 169)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
523 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County",
sub-title "Vienna", relating to the power to fill vacancies
in the office of Commissioner of Vienna in the event of
a refusal or failure to file for or seek election thereto.
AND CORRECTING AN ERROR IN SAID SECTION.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 523 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester
County", sub-title "Vienna", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
523. The five THREE commissioners elected shall, with-
in ten days after their election, meet and organize, by
choosing one of their number to be president of the board,
and all vacancies occurring in the board, either by death,
removal from the town, resignation or refusal to act as
Commissioner, or refusal or failure to file for and to seek
election, shall be filled by the remaining Commissioners by
electing some adult citizen of said town who possesses the
required qualifications for being Commissioner, and he or
she shall hold office for the unexpired term for which he or
she was elected or until his or her successor is duly elected
and qualified.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
