sion of any criminal offense within said county, or false or
fictitious report of any other matter or occurrence of which
said Sheriff's office or Police Department is required to re-
ceive reports, or in connection with which said Sheriff's
office or Police Department is required to conduct investi-
gation, knowing such reports to be false or fictitious; or
who shall communicate or cause to be communicated to said
Sheriff's office or Police Department, or any officer or
member thereof, any false information concerning the com-
mission of any criminal offense within said county or con-
cerning any other matter or occurrence of which said
Sheriff's office or Police Department is required to conduct
investigation, knowing such information to be false, shall
be punished by a fine not exceeding $300. 00 or by imprison-
ment not exceeding thirty days.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1387 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Upper Marlboro", relating to the
method of election, duties, powers and compensation of
the Commissioners of Upper Marlboro and providing for
a referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 1387 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Upper Marlboro",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
1387. The Commissioners of Upper Marlboro shall be
three in number and shall be elected on the first Monday in
