authority of this sub-title unless the question of issuing
such bonds shall have been submitted to the registered
voters within the geographical limits of the said Authority,
the County Commissioners of the particular County and/or
the Mayor and City Council by whatever name known of
any municipal corporation within Dorchester County
[and/or the] or Allegany County. The Board of Election
Supervisors of Dorchester County or Allegany County
shall do such things as are necessary and proper to submit
said question to a referendum of the said voters. Persons
qualified to vote at such referendum shall be those who
live within the geographical area of the said Authority
and who are duly qualified and registered voters for
County and State elections in said part of Dorchester
County or Allegany County. The date for the said refer-
endum shall be set by the Board of the Authority and
except as in this sub-title otherwise provided, said refer-
endum shall be conducted agreeable to the general provi-
sions in Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
The ballots at any such referendum shall have printed
upon them the words 'Tor the Bond Issue" and "Against
the Bond Issue. " If a majority of the persons voting on
said question within the geographical limits of the Author-
ity shall vote 'Tor the Bond Issue", the Authority may
proceed to issue such bonds. If a majority of the persons
voting on said question within the geographical limits of
the Authority shall vote "Against the Bond Issue", the
proposal to issue such bonds shall be null and void and of
no effect. No such referendum vote shall be construed to
prevent the submission of the same or a similar question
at a referendum at any time in the future.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
