THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1731

Except as required otherwise by this Act, said election shall
be conducted, as nearly as practicable in the same manner
as elections for municipal officers of the City of Hyattsville.
Said committee shall appoint two (2) judges and two (2)
clerks who shall conduct said election. The said judges and
clerks, before undertaking to perform the duties of their
office, shall subscribe to the same oath as is now ad-
ministered for judges and clerks in elections of municipal
officers of the City of Hyattsville.

All persons over the age of twenty-one (21) years who
actually reside on the date of said election within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed to the City of Hyattsville by
this Act shall be eligible to vote at said election. The said
judges, or any of them, before permitting any person to
vote at said election, shall administer to such person an
oath to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the
truth with reference to any question said judges may then
ask concerning the qualifications of such person as a voter
in said election, and shall examine each of said persons, and
any such person who does not qualify under the terms of
this section, shall be refused the right to vote.

Upon the closing of said polls, the said judges and clerks
shall canvass the said vote, publicly announce the result of
said canvass, certify the result to the Mayor and City
Council of Hyattsville, and deliver the ballot boxes, with
the ballots sealed therein, to the Mayor and City Council,
who shall faithfully keep the sealed boxes for a period of
thirty (30) days after said election.

In the event that the majority of said votes are in favor
of the annexation of the territory herein described to the
City of Hyattsville, said territory shall thereupon be
annexed to and become a part of said City as provided
above, but in the event that a majority of said votes are
against such annexation, this Act shall then be null and
void and of no effect.

SEC. 4A. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT
IN THE EVENT THAT ANNEXATION OF THE
TERRITORIES HERETOFORE DESCRIBED IS AP-
PROVED BY THE VOTERS OF THE CITY OF HYATTS-
