THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1683

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That except as here-
inafter otherwise provided, all the provisions of the Con-
stitution of Maryland, all laws of the State of Maryland
applicable to the City of Hyattsville which now are in
force or may hereafter be enacted, and all the existing
ordinances of the City of Hyattsville, shall be and the same
are hereby extended and made applicable to such portion
of Prince George's County as is, under the provisions of
this Act, annexed to and made a part of the said City of
Hyattsville. Nothing herein, or elsewhere in this Act, shall
affect the power of the Mayor and City Council of Hyatts-
ville to amend or repeal any ordinance existing at the date
of the passage of this Act, or to enact and ordain any
ordinance which, at the date of the passage of this Act,
or hereafter, it may be authorized to enact and ordain.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all the inhabi-
tants of the territory annexed to the City of Hyattsville
by this Act, shall, in all respects and to all intents and pur-
poses, be subject to the powers, jurisdiction and authority
vested, or to be vested by law, in the Mayor and City
Council of Hyattsville, and to all the ordinances now in
force in said City, or which may hereafter be enacted and
ordained by it, so far as the same may be consistent with
the provisions of this Act, and the territory so annexed
shall, in all respects, be taken and considered as a part of
the municipal corporation of the City of Hyattsville.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for
the immediately preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths of all of the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
