amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Dollars
($300, 000. 00) ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($125, 000. 00) which
bonds and the interest thereon and/or certificates
of indebtedness and the interest on same shall be
issued upon full faith and credit of the Mayor
and City Council of Hyattsville payable primarily
from the proceeds realized from the operation of
the parking lots; authorizing the Mayor and City Council
of Hyattsville to levy and impose ad valorem taxes
against all real estate, including both the value of im-
provements and the value of the land which is zoned
and/or used for commercial, industrial? apartments, or
general business use within the corporate limits of the
City for the payment of the principal of and interest on
any of said bonds or certificates of indebtedness pro-
vided, however, that said ad valorem taxes shall only
be levied to make up any deficiency required to maintain
and operate the said parking lot, after first using the
funds realized from the operation of said off-street park-
ing facilities; authorizing the Mayor and City Council
of Hyattsville, Maryland to determine by resolution the
form of said bonds or certificates of indebtedness, in-
terest rates, and all other details incident to the issuance,
sale and delivery thereof; and repealing all Acts and
parts of Acts however inconsistent with the provisions
of this Act to the extent of such inconsistency.
WHEREAS, The continued increase in vehicular traffic of
all kinds on and about public thoroughfares, and the lack
of adequate off-street parking space in the metropolitan
areas of the City of Hyattsville has resulted in congestion
to such extent as seriously to affect adversely the public
health and safety of the citizens of the State of Maryland,
and of the City of Hyattsville, and
WHEREAS, It is desirable and in the public interest that
such conditions be eliminated and corrected, and
WHEREAS, It appears that the establishment of additional
parking facilities available to the public in and about the
several metropolitan areas of the City of Hyattsville will
contribute materially to the alleviation of said harmful
congestion, which is hereby found and declared to be a
matter of public interest, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That six new sections be and they are hereby
