(e) The State's Attorney[s] of Washington County shall
receive an annual salary of $2, 500. On and after January
1, 1955, the State's Attorney of Washington County shall
receive an annual salary of $5, 000. 00.
(F) THE STATE'S ATTORNEYS OF HARFORD, ST.
MARY'S, TALBOT AND WICOMICO COUNTIES
SHALL EACH RECEIVE AN ANNUAL SALARY OF
$3, 000.
THE STATE'S ATTORNEY OF ST. MARY'S COUNTY
SHALL BE ALLOWED SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS
($600. 00) ANNUALLY FOR CLERICAL EXPENSES
AND A $600 ANNUAL RENTAL ALLOWANCE.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect January 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 720
(House Bill 712)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Public
Education", sub-title "Chapter Fifteen. Public Li-
braries", said section to be known as Section 195A, to
follow immediately after Section 195, and to provide that
the Department of Public Libraries of Montgomery
County shall be entitled to the benefits provided by Sec-
tion 178 of said Article and to exempt said Department
of Public Libraries of Montgomery County from certain
provisions of said sub-title.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter Fif-
teen. Public Libraries", said section to be known as Sec-
tion 195A, to follow immediately after Section 195, and
to read as follows:
