437A. (A) EACH MEMBER, INCLUDING THE
CHAIRMAN, SHALL RECEIVE A REASONABLE AL-
LOWANCE FOR TRAVELING AND OTHER EX-
PENSES INCIDENTAL TO THE PERFORMANCE OF
HIS DUTIES NOT TO EXCEED $250. 00 PER ANNUM.
(B) THE COMMISSION IS EMPOWERED TO AP-
POINT A FULL-TIME SECRETARY AND FIX THE
SALARIES AND WAGES OF SUCH PERSONNEL AS
ARE NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT THE PURPOSES
OF THIS ACT.
(d) (C) The provisions of Section 260 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition),
shall not apply to this sub-title.
437B. The Recreation Commission is authorized and em-
powered to use the playgrounds, gymnasiums and other
facilities of any Anne Arundel County school building,
without charge for such use, provided that such use is
properly supervised, AND COMPENSATE THE BOARD
OF EDUCATION FOR SUCH ADDITIONAL EX-
PENSES AS MAY BE INCURRED IN THE OPERA-
TION OF THE RECREATIONAL PROGRAM AND AS
MAY BE AGREED UPON BETWEEN THE SAID
BOARD OF EDUCATION AND THE RECREATIONAL
COMMISSION, notwithstanding the provisions of Section
76 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition).
437C. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are authorized and empowered to levy a special
Recreation Tax, not exceeding two hundredths of one per-
centum (0. 02%) per annum, on each and every One Hun-
dred Dollars worth of assessable property, real and per-
sonal, subject to taxation by the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County. All moneys collected from such tax
shall be kept in a special Recreation Fund and shall be ex-
pended by the Recreation Commission only with the prior
approval of the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County.
437D. NO PROVISION OF THIS ACT SHALL BE
APPLICABLE TO THE SIXTH ELECTION DISTRICT
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.
