indicated by his endorsement on said plat, to the end and
intent that said Roads Engineer shall be able effectively to
control the general plan of streets, avenues and highways
as hereinbefore provided.
(b) The County Commissioners of Baltimore County,
with the approval of the Director of the Department of
Public Works, may, in their discretion, formulate and adopt
a general plan in order to control and regulate running
streams, watersheds, and drainage courses within Balti-
imore County.
(B) THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
OF BALTIMORE COUNTY IS AUTHORIZED AND EM-
POWERED TO ACQUIRE, BY PURCHASE OR CON-
DEMNATION, SUCH PROPERTY ADJACENT TO
RUNNING STREAMS AND WATERWAYS IN BALTI-
MORE COUNTY AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR THE
ERECTION OF PROPER FLOOD CONTROL STRUC-
TURES AND INSTALLATIONS ALONG AND NEAR
THE BANKS THEREOF; AND THE BOARD IS
FURTHER AUTHORIZED AND EMPOWERED TO IN-
STALL, CONSTRUCT OR OTHERWISE ACQUIRE AND
TO MAINTAIN ALL SUCH STRUCTURES AND IN-
STALLATIONS.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 704
(House Bill 546)
AN ACT to add twelve new sections to Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Dorchester County", said new sections to be known
as Sections 38A to 38L, inclusive, to follow immediately
after Section 38 of said Article, and to be under the new
sub-title "Brookview", incorporating the Town of Brook-
view", in Dorchester County.
