CHAPTER 680
(House Bill 361)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (k) of Section 19 of Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Alcoholic Bev-
erages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses", pro-
viding that it shall be lawful to sell or serve alcoholic
beverages at bars or counters in Worcester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sub-section (k) of Section 19 of Article
2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and
Liquor Licenses", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

19.

(k) (Worcester County. ) Bona fide hotels having twenty
(20) or more rooms, regularly serving meals, or restaurants
as such restaurants are by ordinance defined by the Mayor
and City Council of Ocean City, upon compliance with the
general provisions and regulations of this Article, and
upon payment of an annual license fee as hereinafter pro-
vided shall, with the approval of the Mayor and City Coun-
cil of Ocean City, be entitled to a license entitling such
hotel or restaurant to serve liquors, wines and beers
within the corporate limits of said Town of Ocean City
between the hours of 7 A. M. and 11: 00 P. M., and pro-
vided, however, that no alcoholic beverages may be sold
as provided under this sub-title on the first day of the
week, commonly called Sunday; and provided further,
[that no sale shall be made nor any liquors served at bars
or counters, and] that such licensees shall purchase all
liquors and wines from the Liquor Control Board of said
County. The Mayor and City Council of Ocean City shall by
ordinance prescribe uniform license fees for such licenses of
not less than Five Hundred Dollars ($500. 00) and no more
than Five Thousand Dollars ($5, 000. 00); and provided
further, that, in addition to the license fees required here-
under, such licensee shall file a bond with corporate surety
in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1, 000. 00) with
