771A to 771D (inclusive), 772, 773, 774, 775, 776, 776A,
777, 777A, 778, 779, 780, 781, 782, 783, 783A, 784, 785,
785A to 785D (inclusive), 786, 787, 787A to 787D (inclu-
sive) relating to the limits of the Town of Thurmont, the
officers of said town, a procedure for registration, nomi-
nations, elections, taxation, and providing generally for
the administration of the government and affairs of said
town and providing for a referendum.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 762 to 806, inclusive, 771A, 781A,
783A, 791A and 802A and all subsequent amendments
thereof and additions thereto of Article 11 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), as
amended, title "Frederick County", sub-title "Thurmont",
be and they are hereby repealed and that seventy-seven
new sections be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
said new sections to be known as Sections 762, 763, 763A,
764, 764A to 764V (inclusive), 765, 765A, 765B, 765C, 766,
766A to 7661 (inclusive), 767, 768, 769, 770, 770A, 771,
771A to 771D (inclusive), 772, 773, 774, 775, 776, 776A,
777, 777A, 778, 779, 780, 781, 782, 783, 783A, 784, 785,
785A to 785D (inclusive), 786, 787, 787A to 787D (inclu-
sive) and to read as follows:
762. The citizens of the village formerly known as
Mechanicstown, Frederick County, are created a body poli-
tic by the name of "The Town of Thurmont", with all the
privileges of a body corporate, and as such shall have suc-
cession, and by their corporate name may sue and be sued,
plead and be impleaded, grant, receive and do all other acts
as natural persons, and may purchase and hold real, per-
sonal and mixed property or dispose of the same for the
benefit of said village, and to have and use a common seal,
which they may change at pleasure.
CORPORATE LIMITS
763. The corporate bounds of said town for all pur-
poses shall be as follows: Beginning at a concrete monu-
ment at the junction of the east side of State Road No. 550
leading from Thurmont to Creagerstown and on the south
side of State Road No. 77 leading to Rocky Ridge. Thence,
by true bearing, across the lands of Albaugh and Powell,
south seventy-three degrees, thirty minutes west, a distance
of 3997. 5 ft. to a monument placed along the west edge of
the H. and F. Railroad right-of-way about two hundred
feet from the south side of old Hagerstown road; thence,
