CHAPTER 669
(House Bill 249)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendment, Sub-
section (b) (6) of Section 119 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition), being
Article 3 of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Health and
Sanitation", and to add a new sub-section to said section,
to be known as Sub-section (c) (5), to follow immedi
ately after Sub-section (4) of said sub-section
, provid-
ing that the Board of Health of Baltimore County may
inspect and license convalescent homes HOMES FOR
AGED OR DEPENDENT PERSONS and defining the
term.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Sub-section (b) (6) of Section 119 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948
Edition), being Article 3 of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title
"Health and Sanitation", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, and that a new sub section

be and it is hereby added to said section, to be known as

Sub-section (c) (5), to follow immediately after Sub-sec-
tion (4) of said sub-section, and to read as follows:

119.

(b)

(6) to provide for the inspection and licensing of all
hotels, rooming houses [and], lodging houses and con-
valescent homes
HOMES FOR AGED OR DEPENDENT
PERSONS in Baltimore County, to regulate their opera-
tion and conduct, and to require that they be kept in proper
sanitary condition.

(c)

(5) the term "convalescent home" shall be taken to mean
any house or building in which one or more persons, not
related to the owner or lessee of such house or building, is
