CHAPTER 663

(House Bill 129)

AN ACT to annex to the town of Riverdale that portion of
the unincorporated area of Prince George's County, con-
tiguous to Riverdale, west of the centerline of Edmonston
Avenue lying between College Park on the north and
the present boundary of Riverdale on the south, and to
make the annexed area a part of the Second and Sixth
Wards, respectively, of the town of Riverdale; and to
change the boundary of the town of Riverdale abutting
upon Edmonston Avenue from the western line of the
Avenue to the centerline thereof; AND PROVIDING
FOR A REFERENDUM AMONG THE RESIDENTS
THEREIN AND DECLARING THE EFFECT OF SUCH
REFERENDUM.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That there is hereby annexed to and made a part
of the town of Riverdale that portion of the unincorporated
area of Prince George's County, contiguous to Riverdale,
west of the centerline of Edmonston Avenue, lying between
the town limits of the town of College Park on the north
as redefined by Chapter 70S, Laws of Maryland of 1951,
and the present boundaries of the town of Riverdale on the
south, bounded as follows:

Beginning at a point in the northerly line of Riverdale
Road (formerly Jefferson Avenue) and the easterly line
of 51st Avenue and running thence northerly along the
easterly line of 51st Avenue to the rear line of Block 1,
Riverdale Park Subdivision, said point also being in the
southerly line of what is known as the Calvert Tract; thence
with the northerly line of Block 1 and the southerly line
of the Calvert Tract in a westerly direction to the easterly
right-of-way line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad;
thence northerly with the said easterly line to the southerly
boundary of the town of College Park, as redefined by
Chapter 703, Laws of Maryland of 1951; thence in an east-
erly and northerly direction with the boundary of the town
of College Park to the centerline of Edmonston Avenue, it
being a common intersection with the town of College Park
and the town of Greenbelt; thence southerly with the center-
