and improving the present sewerage system, including
the planning, engineering and design of said extension
and improvement, the construction of an additional
sewage main from the Town of Bel Air to the disposal
plant, the acquisition of the lands, improvements and
rights-of-way necessary and all expenses incidental
thereto, and to provide for the payment of the interest
on and maturing principal of said bonds by the imposition
of an ad valorem tax on the property subject to assess-
ment for taxation located in the Town of Bel Air.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Town of Bel Air be and it is hereby
authorized and empowered to issue bonds on its full faith
and credit at one time or from time to time in the total
amount of Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250, -
000. 00), to be known as "Bel Air Sewerage System Bonds",
payable serially in such amounts as shall be determined
by The Commissioners of Bel Air; said bonds shall be in
the denomination of One Thousand Dollars ($1, 000. 00)
each and shall be exempt from State, County and Municipal
taxes; they shall be signed by the Chairman of The Com-
missioners of Bel Air and attested by the Town Clerk
with the corporate seal of the Town of Bel Air thereto
attached, and shall bear interest at the rate of not more
than five per cent. (5%) per annum, payable semi-annually,
for which proper interest coupons are to be attached. The
authorization of said bonds is in addition to and exclusive
of the authorization for the issuance of bonds contained
in the Charter of Bel Air as codified in Section 109 of
Higinbothom's Code of Laws of Harford County, and the
amount of bonds issued under the provisions of this Act is
not to be added to the amount of bonds issued under the
provisions of said Section 109 of Higinbothom's Code of
Laws of Harford County in calculating the total amount
of bonds issued under the provisions of said Section 109
of Higinbothom's Code of Laws of Harford County, and
any and all Acts or parts of Acts or any part or parts of the
Charter of the Town of Bel Air conflicting in any way
herewith is or are repealed in so far as and to the extent
that the same shall so conflict, and none of the limitations
or restrictions on the power of the Town of Bel Air to
borrow money or issue and sell bonds contained in the
Charter of said municipality or in any other law which
limits, restricts, or in any way affects the powers herein
granted, shall be applicable thereto.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said The
Commissioners of Bel Air shall, by resolution or resolu-
