or box to the right of and opposite the words "For Muni-
cipal Center Building" and a corresponding square or box
to the right of and opposite the words "Against Municipal
Center Building", so that the voter shall be able to desig-
nate by cross mark in the proper square or box his or her
decision for or against said proposed assessment. If a
majority of the votes cast on said question shall be "For
Municipal Center Building", then this Act shall become
immediately effective. If a majority of the votes cast
thereon shall be "Against Municipal Center Building",
then this Act shall be null and void and of no effect what-
soever.

CHAPTER 64
(House Bill 147)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 261 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, "
sub-title "Roads, " as said section was amended by
Chapter 26 of the Acts of 1951, relating to the com-
pensation of the County Road Superintendent of Howard
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Section 261 of Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Howard County, " sub-title "Roads, " as said section was
amended by Chapter 26 of the Acts of 1951, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

261. The County Commissioners of Howard County on
or before the first day of May, in the year nineteen hun-
dred and fourteen and every second year thereafter, shall
appoint some competent person as County Road Superin-
tendent, for the term of two years, who shall have had at
least two years' practical experience in constructing, build-
ing, maintaining and repairing roads in Howard County,
