sioners shall have power to fill the vacancy until the next
regular Town election for Town Commissioners.
The Commissioners so elected shall meet at some con-
venient place in the Town of Aberdeen at least once a
month or as often as is necessary to properly discharge
the duties of their office, and shall each receive annual
salaries of $200.
4A. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph 4,
however, any qualified freeholder and voter may file his
or her name with the Treasurer of the Town of Aberdeen
as candidate for Commissioner at any time prior to six
days before the date of election, exclusive of the filing
date and election date, provided it be accompanied with
a petition signed by not less than fifty qualified voters of
the Town of Aberdeen asking such person to be such
candidate.
12. The Commissioners shall require the Treasurer to
give a corporate bond in the penalty of not less than [Ten
Thousand Dollars ($10, 000)] Twenty Thousand Dollars
($20, 000), for the faithful performance of the duties of
his office, including the collection and accounting for all
sums of money due the Town of Aberdeen. The Commis-
sioners may also require any of its other officers to give
a corporate bond in the amount they may deem necessary,
conditioned for the faithful performance of their duties.
Said bonds shall be filed with the said Commissioners and
the premium thereon paid by the said Town.
13. The term of the officers appointed by the Commis-
sioners provided for in this Charter shall begin as of the
day of the respective appointments and such offices shall
be held by the appointees until removal from office, resig-
nation or death and the Commissioners may fill any
vacancy so caused. The Commissioners of Aberdeen may
in their sole discretion retire any employee of the Town
of Aberdeen reaching the age of sixty-five years and
having been in continuous employment of the Town for
twenty years immediately prior thereto and pay such
employee a monthly pension of not more than One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100. 00), for the remaining term of his life,
and to provide for the payment of such pension in the
annual tax levy.
17. It shall be unlawful for any person, persons or
corporations to provide a place for betting or gaming pur-
poses or to bet, wager, or gamble in any manner or by any
