THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1207
Court, has held that the action of The Town Commis-
sioners of Centreville in so expending the proceeds derived
from said bonds was ultra vires, illegal and void; and
WHEREAS, certain properties in parts of said Town
which became a part of said Town pursuant to Chapter
837 of the Laws of Maryland 1947 have received and
enjoyed the benefits accruing by reason of the construc-
tion of said water mains and fire hydrants; and
WHEREAS, the exemption, for the purposes of taxation,
applying to the properties in that part of said Town which
for the first time became a part of said Town by virtue
of Chapter 837 of the Laws of Maryland 1947, is about to
be amended; and it is desirable to remove any uncertainty
as to the power of The Town Commissioners to levy taxes
on those properties lying in that part of said Town for
the purpose of retiring any part of the bonds and interest
thereon issued pursuant to Chapter 526 of the Laws of
Maryland 1947; now therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

missioners of Centreville pursuant to the authority granted

construction of water mains and fire hydrants in parts of
the Town of Centreville which became a part of the said

1947 and more particularly in the bed of the highway
