shall receive an annual salary of $2, 300. The Sheriff and
Deputy Sheriffs shall be entitled to an expense allowance
for travel at the rate of Seven Cents ($. 07) per mile actu-
ally traveled, IN CONNECTION WITH THE DUTIES OF
HIS OFFICE, and they shall submit monthly vouchers,
stating such mileage under oath, to the County Commis-
sioners of Cecil County. The Sheriff's office shall also
receive an appropriation of $1, 500, to be used for special
investigations and employees, subject to the approval of
the County Commissioners.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 617
(Senate Bill 358)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
6 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 2.
Formation of Boards", and to add a new section to said
Article, to be known as Section 12A and to follow
immediately after Section 12 of said Article, providing
that the County Board of Education of Prince George's
County shall consist of seven (7) persons, providing for
certain qualifications for said persons, and providing
for the duration of terms of office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 6 of Article 77 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Public Education",
sub-title "Chapter 2. Formation of Boards", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that
a new section be and it is hereby added to said Article 77,
to be known as Section 12A, to follow immediately after
Section 12 of said Article, and all to read as follows:
6. County Boards of Education shall be composed in
the counties of Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Dorchester,
