of suppressing fires in said county, provided, however, that
no part of said sum shall be distributed to any such
present or future company which has not been approved
by the [Southern Maryland Fireman's Association, ]
Charles County Fireman's Association and which is not
organized in such manner as to comply with the minimum
requirements prescribed by said Association for Volunteer
Fire Departments. Any or all of said sum for the calendar
year 1951 may be paid out of any contingent or surplus
funds in the treasury of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

(Senate Bill 231)

AN ACT to authorize the State Superintendent of Schools
and the Comptroller to provide for anticipation of pay-
ments required under the provisions of Sections 212,
213 and 214 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Public Education", sub-
title "Chapter 19. Source and Distribution of Income",
insofar as said payments relate to schools in Calvert
County and said payments are due and payable during
the calendar year 1953, and directing the Treasurer of
Maryland to pay all warrants of the Comptroller pur-
suant thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the State Superintendent of Schools is hereby author-
ized to certify to the Comptroller immediately after the
effective date hereof, any part or all of the amounts due
to the Board of Education of Calvert County under the
provisions of Sections 212, 213 and 214 of Article 77 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), as of the
last day of March, May, July and September, and as of
the tenth day of December, 1953; and the Comptroller
