be known as Section 502A of said Article, to follow im-
mediately after Section 502 thereof and to be under the
new sub-title "Stock Car Racing, " and to read as follows:
Stock Car Racing
502A. Each person, firm or corporation, resident or non-
resident, operating in Garrett County, an establishment for
the racing of motor vehicles known as stock cars and
charging an admission fee to spectators at such races shall
pay for the privilege of conducting such establishment an
annual license fee of Seventy-five Dollars ($75. 00). It shall
be the duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Garrett
County to issue such licenses upon the payment of the
annual license fee and One Dollar ($1. 00) which shall be
retained by the said Clerk as a fee of his office.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1953.

CHAPTER 553
(House Bill 761)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
64 (a) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Private
Detectives", excluding marine guards from the operation
of said sub-title.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 64 (a) of Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Licenses",
sub-title "Private Detectives", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as
follows:
64. (Definition of terms. ) (a) The term "private detec-
tive business", shall mean the business of conducting a
private detective agency or for the purpose of making for
hire or reward any investigation or investigations for the
purpose of obtaining information with reference to any of
the following matters, notwithstanding the fact that other
