be awarded upon such terms and conditions as the State
Reporter shall, under the direction and supervision of the
Court of Appeals of Maryland, deem necessary. The pub-
lisher shall deliver to the State library three hundred copies
of each volume bound in first-class buckram; and the State
shall pay therefor to the publisher the contract price per
volume for each of said three hundred volumes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall in any way affect the present rights and obliga-
tions under the existing contract for the publication of the
Maryland State Reports.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That is Act is hereby,
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 548
(House Bill 730)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
562, 570 and 571 of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washing-
ton County", sub-title "Juvenile Court", as said sections
were enacted by Chapter 526 of the Acts of 1941, and
amended by Chapter 674 of the Acts of 1949, and to add
a new section and two new sub-sections to said Article
and sub-title, to be known as Sections 570A, 572(i) and
572(j) and to follow immediately after Sections 570 and
572(h), respectively, relating to the salary of the Magis-
trate for Juvenile Causes, the Probation Officer, and the
Clerk; authorizing the employment of certain other
personnel; authorizing the designation of temporary de-
tention homes, and directing the County Commissioners
