Article and Title, eliminating the detailed requirements
relative to the letting of contracts for the publication
of the Maryland Reports, providing for the publication
of such Reports by the State Reporter under the direc-
tion and supervision of the Court of Appeals of Mary-
land, eliminating the specific and detailed requirements
concerning the format and the content of the Maryland
Reports, providing that the Court of Appeals of this
State shall have full and complete authority to determine
the format and the content of such Reports, and pro-
viding that the provisions of the Act shall in no way
affect the existing contract for the publication of the
Maryland Reports.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 3 to 6, inclusive, of Article 80
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Reporter—State", be and they are hereby repealed, and
that two new Sections be and they are hereby enacted in
lieu thereof, to be under said title of said Article and to
stand in the place and stead of the Sections so repealed, to
be known as Sections 3 and 4, and to read as follows:
3. Said reporter, under the supervision of the Court of
Appeals of this State, shall prepare for publication reports
of all the cases argued and determined in the Court of Ap-
peals of this State designated by said Court to be reported
within six months from the time when the same shall have
been determined. The reports in all cases shall be published
in such form and shall contain such material as the Court
of Appeals may, from time to time, determine. The reporter
shall, in the usual manner of authors, superintend the
publications, correction and proof reading of such reports,
and shall secure the copyright for the State of Maryland
and as its property; and in addition to his aforesaid salary
shall receive such sum as may be provided in the State
Budget for clerical assistance. The cost of advertising for
proposals for the publication of said reports shall be paid
by the Comptroller upon the presentation of properly au-
thenticated vouchers. The Clerk of the Court of Appeals
shall promptly deliver to the State Reporter accurate type-
written copies of all the opinions of the Court of Appeals,
to be paid for by the said Clerk out of the fees of his office.
4. The State Reporter, under the direction and super-
vision of the Court of Appeals of Maryland, shall arrange
for the publication of the Maryland Reports and let the
necessary contracts for such Reports. Such contracts may
