OFFICE OP THE SECRETARY OF STATE
To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, JOHN R. REEVES, SECRETARY OF STATE OP THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
210 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951
Edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Referendum
election held in the Town of Thurmont, Frederick County,
Maryland, on Monday, March 16, 1953, an Act known as
Chapter 77 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1953 was submitted to the voters of Thurmont, Frederick
County, Maryland, for their adoption or rejection under the
provisions of Chapter 77 of the Acts of 1953, said Act being:
"An Act to repeal the Charter of the Town of Thurmont
in Art. 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws and to
enact 77 new sections to be added, and providing
generally for the government thereof".
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at such election 159 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 77 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1953 and 274 votes were cast against
the adoption of the said Chapter 77, and a majority of the
votes being cast against the adoption of the said Act, the
same has, therefore, been rejected by the voters of the Town
of Thurmont, and has failed of ratification.
