SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION STATING ADHER-
ENCE TO THE PRINCIPLE THAT THE UNEMPLOY-
MENT INSURANCE FUND AND THE EMPLOY-
MENT SECURITY SERVICE WERE SET UP FOR
THE BENEFIT OF PERSONS BECOMING UNEM-
PLOYED THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN
AND TO ASSIST COMMUNITY ECONOMIC STA-
BILITY AND REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR TO MAKE AVAILABLE
SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO INSURE ADEQUATE
SERVICE IN THE PROCESS OF UNEMPLOYMENT
INSURANCE CLAIMS.

INASMUCH AS THE Unemployment Compensa-
tion ADMINISTRATION Fund for office administration
having a deficit of more than $113,000, are using funds
that should be used for their 3rd Quarter operation;
thereby jeopardizing the continuance of the Unemploy-
ment Claims & Services Division due to lack of funds;
which would create a tremendous hardship on the people
we represent. The work load of the office personnel has
increased approximately 300% making it impossible to
give the proper service and attention to the unemployed
claimants.
Now, therefore be it resolved:
That the Maryland General Assembly does hereby re-
quest the Bureau of Employment Security of the United
States Department of Labor, to make available sufficient
