Board of Commissioners of Practical Plumbing. It shall be
the place where such licensing boards and agencies shall
discharge their duties and keep their records, except where
otherwise directed by law to conduct examinations
throughout the State.
(b) The licensing boards enumerated in Sub-section (a)
of this section shall share the expenses of quarters, office
supplies, equipment and clerical assistance on a pro rata
basis in such amounts as the elected Central Office Exec-
utive provided for in Sub-section (c) shall, subject to the
approval of the Board of Public Works, determine. Each
of said Boards is authorized to use any monies appropri-
ated by the General Assembly of Maryland for that purpose
to meet its pro rata share of such costs but no state funds,
other than the fees collected by the several Boards indi-
vidually, shall be made available to them for expenditure.
(c) The members of the licensing boards enumerated in
Sub-section (a) shall together elect on June 1 of each year,
a Central Office Executive from the membership of said
Boards. For the ensuing year, such Central Office Execu-
tive shall be in immediate charge of the Central Licensing
Office, and shall supervise the obtaining of necessary office
equipment, supplies and clerical assistance. The Central
Office Executive shall be responsible for the supervision of
clerical assistance authorized by the Budget and shall enter
into a rental or lease agreement for office space, if and as
required by the Central Licensing Office, subject to the
approval of the Board of Public Works.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any appropria-
tion of funds made in the annual appropriation bill for the
fiscal year 1955 which may be made to the State Employ-
ment Commissioner or any other agency and which are de-
signed for the examining board service heretofore carried
on under the office of the State Employment Commis-
sioner, more recently known as the State Commissioner of
Personnel, shall be transferred as of July 1, 1954 to the
Central Licensing Office herein established and may be
expended during said fiscal year by the Central Licensing
Office within the limits and powers and within the amount
so appropriated.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1954.
